BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Art Cain were held at Lakeview United Methodist Church, Shreveport, Saturday, September 8, 2007 with interment and military honors to following at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 W. Swan Lake Road, Bossier City, Rev. Mark Strickland officiating. Pallbearers were friends, Howard Friday, Rick Adams; grandson, Jed; and sons Doug, Dan, and Clint. The family will receive friends before the service at the church. 

Art was born on November, 1922 in Alcorn, Kentucky, to the late Cash Cain and Nancy Rodgers Cain and died Saturday, September 1, 2007, after a long illness. Mr. Cain retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving twenty-three combined years in The Army Air Corp and the United States Air Force as an autopilot specialist. He was employed in Shreveport by Selber Bros. and retired after working for The Caddo Parish School Board. For a time he was self-employed as a service station owner/operator in Bossier City, as well as an owner/ operator of Cain's Furniture Upholstery and Refinishing. He was a patriot and a passionate golfer. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of over fifty years, Dorethea Gulley Cain of Bethany, LA. The couple met during a Hanger Nine Party at Barksdale Air Force Base and later married. Their life in the military took them to Tampa, Florida, England, and back to Bossier City. 

Art is survived by three sons, Doug and wife Martie of Shreveport, Dan and wife Mimi, Clint and wife Emily of Bossier City. His grandchildren include: Jed and wife Holly, Brian, Mary, Amy, Kelly, Cooper, Carrington, Amanda and great-granddaughter Emerson.
